Privacy Policy
Lowball Check ("we", "us", "the Service") is a one-page salary research and entertainment tool. We do not require accounts or passwords, and we try to collect as little data as practical.
1. The short version
- We do not require an account, name, or password.
- The free preview is computed in your browser.
- If you buy the full report, the details you entered are processed by our server and AI service providers to generate that report.
- We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or sell your data.
2. Browser storage
Your form inputs and any paid report snapshot may be saved in your browser's local storage on your own device. This lets the report survive a refresh for a limited time after purchase. You can delete it by clearing your browser storage.
3. Paid report generation
After you unlock, the form details you entered, modeled salary numbers, and salary category are processed by our server and AI service providers so the full report can be generated. We use this to provide the purchased report, not to create advertising profiles.
4. Cartoon image generation
After you unlock, we generate a cartoon image for that report. The image request uses a salary category and limited report context, not your employer, email, or full free-text answers. We do not use the Service as a long-term image library.
5. Payments
The one-time unlock is processed by PayPal. We never see or store your full card or PayPal login credentials. PayPal may provide limited transaction metadata that lets us confirm whether an order was paid.
6. Server logs and delivery records
Like most websites, our hosting provider may record standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, timestamps, and request paths for security and reliability.
For paid reports, we may keep a minimal delivery record showing that a paid unlock token accessed the report generator. This helps us troubleshoot failed unlocks and respond to payment disputes. We do not store the report text or your salary form answers in that delivery record.
7. Third-party services
- PayPal - payment processing.
- AI service providers - text and image generation for paid reports.
- Google Fonts - font delivery, which may involve your IP address.
- Hosting provider - website hosting and technical logs.
8. Retention
We do not maintain user accounts or salary profiles. Payment metadata and minimal delivery records may be retained as needed for accounting, refunds, dispute handling, security, and legal compliance. Browser-stored form inputs and report snapshots remain on your own device until you clear them or they expire.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Since we do not maintain accounts, in many cases we may only have payment or delivery metadata tied to a transaction. To make a request, email support@lowballcheck.com.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your location, to make a purchase.
11. International users
Our providers may process data in countries other than your own. By using the Service you understand that limited technical, report-generation, and payment data may be processed internationally.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical measures to protect the Service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
