Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Lowball Check (the "Service"). By using the Service or purchasing the report, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, and able to form a binding contract to use the Service or make a purchase.

2. What the Service is

Lowball Check is an informational and entertainment tool. It takes the details you enter and produces a modeled estimate of whether your pay may be below a market reference, along with a salary type, a humorous cartoon, suggested talking points, and a shareable card. The output is generated and approximate, not a statement of fact about your employer or true market value.

3. Not professional advice

The Service does not provide legal, financial, tax, accounting, employment, HR, or career advice, and using it does not create any professional or advisory relationship. Salary benchmarks are modeled approximations and may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate for your specific situation. Do not rely on the Service as your sole basis for any decision. Always verify with qualified professionals, official offers, and authoritative local data before acting.

4. Purchases and delivery

The full report is a one-time digital purchase of $3 USD, or the price shown at checkout, processed by PayPal. Access is delivered immediately in your browser after successful payment. A local report snapshot may be saved in your browser for a limited time so a refresh does not immediately erase the purchased report. You are responsible for any applicable taxes. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service for unlawful purposes, bypass payment or unlock mechanisms, copy or resell the Service at scale, disrupt the Service or its providers, or submit content that is illegal, infringing, or harmful.

6. Intellectual property and your content

The Service, design, text, and code are owned by Lowball Check and protected by applicable laws. The text you enter remains yours; by submitting it for a paid report you grant us a limited license to process it to provide the result. For each paid unlock, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive license to use and share the generated report and cartoon image for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.

7. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties including PayPal, AI service providers, Google Fonts, and our hosting provider. Your use of those features may be subject to their terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

8. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that results will be accurate, that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any outcome such as a raise will be achieved.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lowball Check and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost wages, lost opportunities, lost profits, or employment consequences arising from your use of or reliance on the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you actually paid us in the 6 months before the claim.

10. Service availability

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service in whole or in part at any time without liability.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator's principal place of business, unless mandatory consumer law in your location gives you other rights.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
